HKUST Secures Support from Stellar Rise for In-Orbit Bio-Inspired Robotic Project

HKUST has secured support from Stellar Rise for an in-orbit bio-inspired robotic project that explores how biological locomotion can inform spacecraft systems.

The collaboration joins faculty in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with industrial partners to test lightweight, adaptive mechanisms in microgravity.

It is one of several frontier projects that pair HKUST laboratories with international institutions to originate research and tackle global challenges.

Students will join the mission team through internships and capstone placements, extending the University’s culture of research-led undergraduate education.
