HKUST Pre-University Program Attracts around 800 Secondary School Students Worldwide
HKUST’s Pre-University Program drew around 800 secondary school students from across the world this summer, one of the largest international intakes in the program’s history.
Participants joined laboratory workshops, design sprints and cultural immersions led by faculty and current undergraduates — a first look at the University’s research-led teaching.
The program is a cornerstone of HKUST’s internationalization strategy: attracting world-class talent early, then offering a pathway into undergraduate study, scholarships and mentorship.
Many participants come from Belt and Road economies and countries that rarely send students to Hong Kong, widening the University’s global classroom before they even matriculate.
